This narrow minded approach, to say the least, is what's going to get this country even more polarized.

I think the wall is a waste of money. I also believe that Trump expecting Mexico to pay for the wall is absolutely ridiculous. But calling the people favoring the wall bigoted never crosses my mind. Those people favoring the wall are threatened by mostly economic and cultural factors that affect their lives and livelihood. They believe the wall will reduce that threat. Bigotry is hardly a reason.

The biggest threat to Americans' jobs and wages is coming from a global economy. The wall will not change that. That's why, if it ever happens, is going to fail to solve any economical threats.

Re-read my post. There's good rational arguments in favor and against, but few people care for them.

The ad is Watchtower style. Emotional to the core.

Give me the rational arguments. There's plenty in favor and against.

This commercial is emotionally manipulative. The U.S. and other developed countries can't, nor are obliged to, absorb everyone who is poor and suffering in the world. It'd be nice, but is far from reality.

And yes, I am an immigrant living in the U.S. who believes that any host country has to the right to make rational decisions that primarily benefit itself and its citizens before any emotional considerations are applied.

one of the most persistent arguments for belief in god centres on the necessity of an ultimate law-giver and epitome of goodness.. a softer version is seen in the genuine concern that a loss of faith will result in a corresponding loss of a moral compass - a more strident argument links the existence of good and evil with proof of the reality of god.

it is often asserted that without god, moral decisions degenerate to nothing more than personal preferences and the victory of "might is right".. i want to succinctly lay out my response as an atheist, and show that a supreme being is not required for objective morality.. it is helpful to distinguish between absolute morality, objective morality and subjective morality.

christian apologists frequently conflate the first two, and secular debaters often fail to point out the difference.. theists who disagree on everything else, are unanimous that god is perfectly good.

True. I may add that science does not intend to support atheism. On the other hand, theism, as interpreted by Christians and most other religions, is thoroughly demolished by science. I have long ago concluded that the strength of Christianity is rooted on the ability of the leaders to maintain the masses ignorant. They have done an excellent job so far.

The world is full of "cousins". Remember that we have a common ancestor. Why would you limit the cousins of your daughter to just two.
